About Us
Circle The Blocks is a volunteer led organization that helps bring together neighbors dedicated to strengthening their local communities through consistent walks and talks. While a traditional block watch asks you to be concerned about your neighbor’s property and well being as well as your own, our goal is to take that further with a creative, thoughtful, and persistent presence from volunteers who are committed to helping everyone in their neighborhood thrive.
We work with the City of Seattle and King County leadership, Community Assisted Response and Engagement (CARE), and the Seattle Police Department. We collaborate closely with and learn from each of these organizations.
We are deeply grateful for the mentorship and encouragement of Circle the Square, founded by Paul Hughes, RaNae Vodder, and Grace Norman, whose work inspired us to get started. They generously invited us to learn from their walks, joined us for our test walks, shared resources, and offered thoughtful guidance as we began this effort.
Circle The Blocks was founded and organized by Erin Reinhart, with the support of many community members and the dedicated contributions of Juliana da Costa, Hilary Santini, Debra Gumbardo, and Rick Grossman, who generously gave many hours to help strengthen our blocks one walk at a time.
